Daman and Diu Beach

The union territories of Daman and Diu lie on the edge of the southern borders of Gujarat, in western India. these twin islands are a tourist's haven. The beaches are known for their coconut palms, soft sands and ancient monuments. The small city is known for its beauty and beaches. There are many beaches and beach tours to this part of India which are the Devka beach, Nani Daman and Jampore beach etc.

Daman

Daman earlier called 'Damao', is situated on the west coast of India, bordered by the Arabian Sea. It is surrounded by the Kolak River on the north, Gujarat on the east, Kalai River on the south and Gulf of Cambay on the west. The clean and picturesque beached of Daman are very inviting to all the tourists especially the ever tensed and tired urbanites. The beaches at Daman attract tourists from all over the world.

Diu 

Pandavas during their fourteen years of exile are believed to have passed a few days at a place known as Mani Nagar (DIU) which was under the Yadavas led by Krishna Vasudeva during Mahabharata period. Other popular and worth visiting beaches of Diu are Goghla, Kevdi, Gomatimala etc.

Devka Beach 
Devka is a beautiful and unspoilt beach with a long shore-line situated in the northern part of Daman. The entertainment and well tended amusement park with its musical fountain and kid's corner has become very popular. The park during festivals provides an attractive sight. You can go on pony rides on the Devka beach. This lovely beach resort is a great place to go to for kids.


Jampore Beach
Jampore Beach leads on to the border of Gujarat, towards south. This beach is most suited to swimming as it is danger-free, On festive days this beach is lighted up and enchanted people from all walks of life. This beach is most suited to swimming.


Nani Daman
Nani Daman  has some interesting sites like Fort of St. Jerome or Nani Daman Fort. The most conspicuous part of the fort is the giant gateway facing the river with a large statue of St. Jerome who was one of the most eminent priest of the Catholic Church. There are a number of places that you can visit during your beach holidays and beach tours to Daman and these include places like the Gandhi Park, Daman Fort, a fishing dock and an ancient Church.
