Bandhavgarh
National Park is one of the wild life sanctuaries in
the Indian state Madhya Pradesh. This
park is 197 Km northwest of jabalpur in the Vindhyan
mountain range. Its much smaller than Kanha,but
claims to have highest-density tiger population in
the world,with between 50 and56 tigers.there are
also leopards.the park area is 448 sq km,of which
105 sqkm,Is the ‘core area’ Bandhavgrah,s seting
to impressive. Its named after the ancient fort
built on 800m-high cliffs.There's a temple at the
fort that can be visited by jeep and below it are
numerous rock-cut cave shines.

The
fragile ecology supports nilgis,wild boars
jackals,gaurs,sambars Porcupines,as well as many
species of birds the ramparts of the provide a home
for Vultures,blue rock thrushes and crag
martins.Bandhavgarh receives fewer visitors than
Kanha and there’sgood chance of spotting a tiger
here. The Maharaja of Rewa spotted 111 of them
in all-down his gun barrel. Now there are about 46
to 52 tigers one can spot here.
The forests of Bandhavgarh are The Elusive
White Tiger
jungles of
the yesteryears. This is also the site where the
famous WHITE
TIGERS
of Rewa were
discovered.
Wandering through the Bandhavgarh national park on
an Elephant Back, the chances of seeing a tiger are
quite good. In the Bandhavgarh National Park the
visitors can be entered on elephant back apart from
the four wheelers.
Initially just 105.40-sq-kms in area, Bandhavgarh
with 25 resident TIGERS was noted for its
high-density tiger population. Stretches of bamboo
and grasslands extend to the north. The main
wildlife viewing is still done in the core of the
park with its 32 picturesque, wooded hills.
