Covelong
is a nice beach between Chennai and Mahabalipuram
and a small charming fishing settlement. The beach
is separated from the mainland by the canal running
from Chennai to Mahabalipuram. The sea and the surf
here are gentle.

Elliot's
Beach, located in Besant Nagar, is the preferred
destination for those with a clean atmosphere in
mind. Four decades ago, Elliot's beach was
the favourite haunt of foreigners. Following
the road along the coast down south from Marina one
will come to Elliot's beach where one can spend a
few hours relaxing. At one end of the beach is the
Church of Our Lady of Health, Madonna, also the
Ashtalakshmi Temple, Goddess Mahalakshmi, Schmidt
Memorial is an immediately recognisable landmark etc.

Marina
Beach
On
the eastern side of Chennai, Marina beach is located
which is counted among one of the longest
beaches in Asia. Its 12-km long stretch was made
beautiful by the wonderful facelift between the
beach and the road is a promenade created by
Governor Grant-Duff, who gave Marina its name in
1884, and is a major tourist attraction today. On
the other side of the road is the familiar Chennai
skyline - Senate House of Madras University, Chepauk
Palace, Presidency College and Vivekananda Illam (Vivekananda
House).

Kanyakumari
Beach
At
the southern most tip of India, where the Arabian Sea,
the Indian Ocean, and the Bay of Bengal meet, lies
Kanyakumari.It is an important pilgrim center.
Especially on full moon days, Kanyakumari is also famous
for its spectacular sunrises and sunsets.The
main attraction of the place is Vivekananda Rock
memorial. Gandhi memorial and Guganathaswamy temple are
two other tourist spots in the area.
