Darjeeling
(7,200ft) in known to be Queen of

road beside Teesta or can enjoy the

Darjeeling
is popularly known as the "Queen
of the Hills" and
produces the famous Darjeeling Tea,
one of the world's finest teas. It is
also home to the Darjeeling Himalayan
Railway, a World Heritage Site.

gruelling activities such as trekking

MIRIK |

Mirik
is being developed as a hill resort. It is
55 kms from Siliguri. The town is centered
around the Sumendu Lake. Landscaped gardens,
the tourism department cottages and boating
facilities have made Mirik an attractive
resort town. Mirik is 1767 m above sea level.
Being promoted as a New Hill Station, Mirik
is a a small valley in Sing-lila hills
region, about 50 Km. From both Siliguri and
Darjeeling at an altitude of 1767 m .
Weather is very pleasant here. The lake is
the main attraction here and there is a 3.5
Km. Path around it. You can boating here .
And the dense forest of pine, cardamom and
the orange will definitely captivate your
heart. Another attraction of Mirik is
Pashupatinagar in the border of Nepal.
The climate of Mirik is very pleasant and
the temperature rarely crosses 30 degrees
during the summers. But the winters are very
cold. Accommodation in Mirik is good and
cheap with hotels concentrated near the
Mirik lake.

KALIMPONG |

Nestling
in the lush green mid ranges of the
Himalayas, this hill station of "the
Raj", has an incredible stunning
backdrop of towering snow capped peaks. This
exotic town of beautiful people, mystical
and enchanting, with a rare ethnic blend of
hill people, has a tradition of hospitality
from the days of the mule caravans of olde.
Located just 80 kms from the Airport and
Railheads, at an altitude of 1,250 metres,
it has a moderate climate ranging from
between 15°C to 25°C in Summer and 7°C to
15°C in Winter, offering year round
comfort.
It was ruled by Bhutan for 155 years, and
was annexed by the British only in 1865,
after which it flourished as a centre of
wool trade with Tibet. Here Buddhism rubs
shoulders with Hinduism and Christianity.
