The other takes you to Lachen (9000ft) with snowy peaks and black cliffs

Yumthang the valley of flowers and snow

Lachung is the base for exploring Yumthang (11,800ft), a unique valley surrounded by snow capped mountains named 'Seven Sisters'. The valley is frozen in winter and becomes a multicolored carpet of Rjododendrons in spring and summer. One can visit Yumesamdong (15,300ft), hot spring and Katao Peak (16,500ft).

Lachen - the land of Lamas

Lachen (9000ft) stands on a grassy area surrounded by pine clad mountains and having barely 150 inhabitants. Its really a breathtaking experience to stay at that height. 30km beyond Lachen lies Thangu valley (13,000ft). Just 20 min drive from Thangu lies the spectucular Choptha valley (13,200ft). If weather permits one can go to Gurudongmar Lake (17,200ft) the beauty of which is equivalent to Manas Sarobar, or Pangong Lake of Ladhak.
