Thus sailing, yatching & surfing

India's
coastal states including Gujarat,
Maharashtra, Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu,
Andhra Pradesh and Orissa have some of the
best beaches in the world. Beaches in Goa
offer facilities for water sports like water
skiing, wind surfing, yatching and para
sailing. Gopalpur-on-Sea in Orissa, Chorwad,
Ahmedpur Mandvi in Gujarat are excellent
spots which are quiet. Lakshadweep offers
excellent wind surfing. Yachting is
developing fast as most luxurious sport
activity in India and gives ample scope for
its visitors. It also provides an easy
access to the shore at major beach resorts,
and harbors.
On the whole,
the western coast is more suitable for water
sports than the eastern coast, as the waters
of the Arabian Sea tend to be calmer than
those of the Bay of Bengal.

Best
Time for the Water Sports
|
|
All of
India’s coastal areas- whether on the
mainland or in the islands- lie in the
tropical zone. Summers are hot and humid,
and monsoons can be depressingly grey; the
best time to visit, therefore, is in the
winter. November to April is when the
weather’s at its best.

Surfing
in Andaman & Nicobar
Islands
|
|
|
|
The Andaman
& Nicobar Islands have been on every
surfer's wish list. Geographic isolation,
heavily restricted travel, mysterious Stone
Age culture and totally uncharted waters are
one of the major reasons why you should
include Andaman Islands in your next surf
trip. Free-diving, snorkeling, exploration
and spear-fishing are also some other water
sport options where these islands become an
outstanding opportunity.
